Russian Deputy FM to pay working visit to Cyprus

The Cyprus issue, bilateral affairs and the crisis in the Ukraine will be the focus of the meetings during the working visit of Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksey Yu. Meshkov, who will be in Cyprus 28-29 May.

According to an official press release, Meshkov will be received on Thursday by President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades and will hold a meeting with Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides.

His visit takes place in the framework of the bilateral protocol for political consultations, signed between the two Foreign Ministries in 1994.

The political consultations will take place in the Foreign Ministry between delegations from Cyprus and Russia, headed by Permanent Secretary of the Cyprus Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Alexandros Zenon and the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister.

The talks will focus on bilateral issues of cooperation between the two countries, the Cyprus issue, the developments in the Ukraine and other international and regional issues.
