Nokia Sensor brings personal pages to phones

Nokia has introduced the Sensor, a free of charge phone software application that offers a new way for people to create information and share it with other phone users nearby. Users can now create personal pages on their phone, including text and graphics and also check out the pages of other Sensor users in their vicinity, exchange messages and share files with them.

The application works over Bluetooth wireless technology, providing connectivity within a range of up to 10 meters from the mobile device.

It creates a totally new way of communicating with people in the same location, for example in cafés, get-togethers, busses and trains. People are able to use their creativity and imagination to learn more about other people and their interests. It boosts the opportunities of Bluetooth wireless technology on the mobile device. Nokia Sensor is a spontaneous, sociable application for spontaneous, sociable people.

“The value of using mobile phones and devices is expanded to connecting with those who share the same space at the same time, acquainted or unacquainted,” says Hannu O. Nieminen, Vice President of User Experience Unit at Nokia.
