Greece's finance ministry welcomed on Friday a decision to change the Eurogroup meeting of finance ministers originally scheduled for Sunday to a teleconference on Saturday.
A ministry official said the teleconference would discuss this week's votes by Greek parliament to pass two austerity bills which the European Union and International Monetary Fund have made a pre-condition for releasing the vital fifth tranche of a 110 bln euro bailout package agreed last year.
"It is positive that the Eurogroup meeting on the disbursement of the fifth tranche has been brought forward to a Saturday teleconference from Sunday," the official said.
"The voting of the medium-term programme and the implementation law benefited the country's credibility and forms the basis for talks at the eurogroup tomorrow."
