Tourism revenue surges in April

The bumper Easter season for tourism that saw a 43% increase in arrivals was even better on the expenditure side.
According to the results of the Passenger Survey, revenue from tourism jumped by 53.5% to EUR 136.7 mln in April 2011 compared with EUR 89.0 mln in the corresponding month of 2010.
This brought total revenue for the period January – April 2011 to an estimated EUR 269.8 mln, a rise of 23.7% compared with the EUR 218.2 mln in the same period of 2010.
