Cyprus to host EU trio presidency meeting

Officials from the Cypriot, the Danish and the Polish Ministries of Health will meet on Friday to discuss issues related to the Presidency of the EU.

According to an official announcement, the meeting will take place at the Cyprus Ministry of Health in Nicosia.

The head of the delegations from the three countries will have a brief meeting with Cyprus Health Minister Christos Patsalides at his office.

The EU trio presidency (Poland-Denmark-Cyprus) will exercise the presidency of the European Council from July 1st 2011 until the end of 2012.

This will be the first time that the Republic of Cyprus, since it joined the EU in May 2004, will assume the EU presidency, in the latter part of 2012.
