Cyprus petroleum sales down 1.7% in 2010

Sales of petroleum products fell by 1.7% in 2010 according to the Statistical Service.
The main decline was recorded in the provisions of Gasoil to ships (down 27.8%), sales of Kerosene (down 25.2%), Gasoil (down 16.9%) and Unleaded Motor Gasoline 98 RON (down 6.6%).
By contrast, an increase was recorded in sales of Asphalt (13.1%), Unleaded Motor Gasoline 95 RON (2.7%) and Gasoil Low Sulphur (2.6%).
The stocks of petroleum products at the end of 2010 were 22% higher than the end of 2009.
In December alone sales of petroleum products rose by 5.4% compared with the previous month.
There was a significant rise in sales of Kerosene, Gasoil, Liquefied Petroleum Gases and Unleaded Motor Gasoline, while a decrease was recorded in the sales of Asphalt, Heavy Fuel Oil and Aviation Kerosene.
