Cyprus trade deficit widens to EUR 4.3 bln in Jan-Oct 2010

The trade deficit in Cyprus widens to EUR 4,263.0 mln in January-October 2010 compared with EUR 3,897.2 mln in the corresponding period of 2009.
The main reason was total imports/arrivals (covering total imports from third countries and arrivals from other Member States), which in January-October 2010 rose to EUR 5,190.5 mln from EUR 4,709.1 mln in January-October 2009.
Total exports/dispatches (covering total exports to third countries and dispatches to other Member States) in January-October 2010, reached EUR 927.5 mln compared with EUR 811.9 mln in January-October 2009.
During October 2010 alone, total imports/arrivals (covering total imports from third countries and arrivals from other member states) were valued at EUR 524.0 mln.
Total exports/dispatches (covering total exports to third countries and dispatches to other Member States), including stores and provisions, in October 2010 amounted to EUR 106.0 mln.
Εxports/dispatches of domestically produced goods, including stores and provisions, reached EUR 43.5 mln whilst exports/dispatches of foreign goods, including stores and provisions, were valued at EUR 62.5 mln.
