UPDATE: Greece strikes affect 26 flights from Cyprus, 4500 passengers

A total of 26 flights to and from airports in Cyprus will be affected by Wednesday`s 24-hour strike in Greece, in which air traffic controllers are participating.
Adamos Aspris, spokesman for Hermes airports in Larnaca and Paphos, said that due to the strike “all flights to and from Greek airports are postponed.”
“These are Cyprus Airways, Olympic Air and Aegean flights. Specifically, 26 flights, of which 12 are departures and the other 14 arrivals, will be affected,” he added. He explained that “all cases concern flights to and from Larnaca to and from the airports of Athens and Salonica.”
“The affected airlines have already changed their schedule, so travelers are requested to contact the airlines and travel agents directly,” Aspris said, adding that Wednesday’s strike will affect about 4,500 passengers.
Cyprus Airways announced the cancellation of a number of its flights. Eight flights to and from Athens will be affected, as well as two flights to and from Thessaloniki and the flights from Larnaca to Heraklion –Rhodes and Rhodes- Heraklion -Larnaca.
