The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism announced its invitation to parties to express their interest in the establishment of a joint venture that will develop, finance, construct and operate the Vasilikos Oil Terminal.

According to the announcement, the procedure is open to economic operators and consortia of economic operators and the deadline is set for February 11, 2011. The Expression of Interest will be used to pre-qualify applicants, based on technical, financial and commercial criteria.

It is added that, applicants that will qualify under this procedure will be invited for participation in the Negotiated Procedure.

Finally, it is noted that the procedure will also provide a framework by which the Ministry can solicit views and proposals from applicants on levels of participation and other financial aspects, on the commercial and legal structure and any other views on the concept and development of the Vasilikos terminal.

The Expression of Interest Documents can be obtained from the Ministry's website, www.mcit.gov.cy, from the date of publication of the notice in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Cyprus.
