Turkish Cypriots spent EUR 2.5 mln in the south in Jan-Feb

Turkish Cypriots spent EUR 2.5 mln using credit and debit cards in the southern part of Cyprus during the first two months of the year, according to data from the credit card company JCC. In February alone, they spent EUR 1.2 mln.
The most popular item was supermarkets (reaching EUR 557,401), followed by clothing (EUR 464,277) and “other retailers” (EUR 425,500).
Meanwhile Greek Cypriots spent EUR 1.2 mln in “Occupied Areas and Attaleia”, with only a tiny proportion of that likely to have been spent in Attaleia (Antalya).
Most spending by Greek Cypriots was on entertainment (EUR 433,144 mln), while EUR 201,140 was spent on hotels and EUR 172,308 on airlines. Only EUR 17,141 was spent in supermarkets.
