An agreement concerning the mutual recognition of academic degrees for the entry and continuation of studies in higher education institutions of Romania and Cyprus was signed during an official visit to the country last week by Education and Culture Minister Andreas Demetriou.

An announcement issued on Monday by the Ministry of Education also said that Demetriou participated in a forum entitled “UNESCO Forum on Higher Education in the Europe Region: Access, Values, Quality and Competitiveness».

He also participated in a round table discussion with the education ministers of five other countries during which they examined the challenges that the education system will face in the future.

Demetriou proposed a series of measures on the problems that will arise due to the increasing requirements for continued education and the need to maintain standards.
