Zenon Consortium wins Larnaca Port & Marina

Zenon Consortium has been selected by the Ministry of Communications and Works to undertake the development of the port and marina in Larnaca under the “Design-Build-Finance-Operate” (DBFO) method, according to the Government’s Press and Information Office.

The consortium is led by Louis Pcl (22%) and includes Iacovou Brothers (17.5%), Petrolina (Holdings) Plc (17.5%), the French Bouyques Batiment International (17.5%), Amsterdam Logistics Group B.V and Lievense Consulting Engineers (harbour of Amsterdam, 2%), Costa Cruises (Italian affiliated company of American Carvinal Cruises, 10%), Marinaman Ltd (8.5%), and the Company of General Manufactures (5%).

The project is expected to commence by the end of 2009, with the marina being completed within two years, while it would take six to seven years for the construction of the residential area to be completed. With the construction of the port and the marina, the new Larnaca port would become the major port on the island which would be able to accommodate large cruise ships, whilst the marina would be able to host of some 800 boats.
