The Russian Federation’s Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, took time out of his busy official visit to Cyprus to inaugurate the recently refurbished head office of the Russian Commercial Bank in Limassol.

With several hundred guests present at a lavish reception, the Foreign Minister and RCB’s Chief Executive Officer, Mikhail Kouzovlev, presented Limassol Mayor Andreas Christou with the Alexander Pushkin award, an honour that marks the development of relation between Russia and Cyprus, in particular as regards the promotion of Russian culture.

Sergei Lavrov explained that award is granted by President Vladimir Putin to all graduates of Soviet and Russian universities and academies who have contributed to the promotion of Russian culture.
