Cyprus to host 5th Euro Mediterranean Ministerial Meeting on energy issues

Cyprus will host on December 16-17 the 5th Euro Mediterranean Ministerial Meeting on energy issues.

An official press release issued here said that the Republic of Cyprus in cooperation with the EU Portuguese Presidency and the European Commission would organize the Meeting in the southern coastal town of Cyprus Limassol.

The Meeting will be attended by the 27 EU member states and 14 countries of the Mediterranean, which will be represented by their Ministers responsible for energy issues or by high-ranking officials.

The Meeting will address issues concerning mainly the Euro Mediterranean market of energy, in relation with the increasing worldwide demand of energy and the increase of prices. The participants will also set up their priorities and decide on specific measures that will be included in the 2007-2010 Action Plan.
