Cloudmark, Inc., one of the global leaders in carrier-grade messaging security, and Panda Security, a leading provider of integrated security solutions, announced a partnership to integrate Cloudmark’s message filtering technology into Panda Security’s GateDefender network security appliances. Adaptable to the needs of large enterprises or SMBs, Panda GateDefender appliances are perimeter security devices that block Internet-based threats before they enter the company’s networks.

Cloudmark message filtering technology will be integrated into both the Performa and Integra series of Panda Security’s GateDefender perimeter security appliances. Panda GateDefender Performa protects companies from Internet-based threats, such as viruses, malware, inappropriate content and message-borne threats. Panda’s Integra appliances add firewall and VPN to the features of the Performa, providing a comprehensive unified threat management (UTM) solution.

Cloudmark’s technology is based on a combination of Advanced Message FingerprintingTM algorithms and real-time data on emerging threats from the Cloudmark Global Threat Network, consisting of trusted reporters in 163 countries. Cloudmark detects high rates of inbound and outbound messaging attacks with near zero false positives. In addition, Cloudmark significantly lowers CPU resource/server requirements.

“GateDefender with Cloudmark technology offers companies of all sizes highly scalable and comprehensive gateway-level protection against messaging threats,” commented Jose Antonio López, Director of Corporate Solutions at Panda Security.

“We selected Cloudmark as our technology partner because of their high accuracy in detecting all forms of messaging abuse, along with extremely low false positives”, said López.

“Unsolicited emails create problems for enterprises, either as a security threat, consuming network bandwidth and storage or by reducing productivity. Cloudmark and Panda’s joint effort will offer companies high filtering accuracy combined with the high carrier-grade performance required for an edge security solution,” commented Neil Cook, Head of Technology Services, EMEA at Cloudmark.
