Cyprus, Greece and Jordan have signed a Trilateral Defence Cooperation Programme during a ceremony held at the National Guard General Staff in Nicosia.

A National Guard statement said the Programme provides for joint training and other activities in Cyprus, Greece and Jordan, adding that these activities will strengthen even more cooperation among the three countries’ armed forces.

It said that signing the Programme reflects the broad spectrum of initiatives for multilateral activities which the National Guard has developed with the armed forces of friendly countries promoting regional cooperation in security and defence, stability in the Eastern Mediterranean and beyond.

During the visit of the delegations from Greece and Jordan, their heads held meetings with the National Guard Chief, Lieutenant Dimokritos Zervakis.

They reviewed the relations of their armed forces and discussed activities included in the Programme and topics of broad interest.

The three countries have participated in joint military exercises and on a multi-national level.
