CYPRUS: More than 10,500 EU citizens registered to vote in Euro elections

The total number of EU voters who are registered in Cyprus and have a right to vote is 10,559, the biggest share come from Greece, the Chief Returning Officer said.


Voters from Greece rank first with 5,743, followed by Bulgarian nationals, 1572, Romanians 1433, UK nationals rank fourth with 1319 registered voters and Polish nationals (144) come fifth.

The gender split is of 5,704 male voters are registered and 4,885 are women.

British nationals who are on the electoral register can vote person, by post or by proxy.

There are around 70,000 British nationals in Cyprus, mostly pensioners, according to the British High Commission in Nicosia.

The European elections take place in Cyprus on May 26.
