CYPRUS: Bounced cheques rise to €400,000

A total of 275 bounced or dishonoured cheques worth 400,000 euros, were issued in the first quarter of the year, according to data released by the Central Bank of Cyprus.


 
A total of 100 dishonoured cheques were issued in March, compared with 72 cheques in February and 86 in March of 2016.
According to the CBC, a total of 42 persons, 27 natural persons and 15 companies, have been added to the Central Information Registry of the CBC.
For the three months ending March, a total of 128 persons (68 natural and 60 companies) had been placed in the registry.
