The Cyprus Shipping Chamber hosted a luncheon for Cypriot Members of European Parliament at the Hilton Hotel in Nicosia last week, within the framework of its close cooperation with the Cyprus State Representation at the European Union.

During the luncheon, members of the CSC board of directors had the opportunity to brief the Cyprus MEPs about the current issues and problems that affect the Cyprus shipping industry with particular focus and a more in-depth discussion with regard to the Turkish embargo on Cyprus-flag vessels, as well as other technical and environmental issues related to shipping.
The MEPs expressed their support and re-affirmed the importance that is attributed to Cyprus shipping and stressed that all efforts are being made at the European parliament towards a quick and effective solution to the problems faced by the shipping industry, especially those related to the European Union.
