CYPRUS: Alpen Invest awarded “Best Fund Management Team”

Headquartered in London, Capital Finance International (CFI) is a leading resource providing news, analysis and commentary on business, economics and finance, and this year’s awards will be formally announced in an upcoming edition. Recognising that, as world economies converge, the traditional distinction between emerging and developed markets is now far less easy to distinguish, CFI addresses economic, political and business factors affecting these markets and identifies regions, industry sectors and companies that will succeed.

In their report, the award judges applauded Alpen Invest – under Cypriot control since 2014 – for putting place a number of comprehensive processes that “ensure risk profiles are properly managed at all times”, and noted that the company also “closely adheres to transparent investment policies that are centred on client concerns and aspirations”. They also emphasised the company’s concern for investors, noting that Alpen Invest’s professionals “strongly believe that Slovenian companies presently being privatised are significantly undervalued and thus offer excellent short and medium term upward potential”. This year’s award winners included German pharmacist Bayer, HSBC, PwC, and Baker & McKenzie consulting firms and MetLife Insurance.

The award further solidifies Alpen Invest’s position as one of the leading asset management companies in South Eastern Europe. Back in February, Alpen Invest was also proclaimed as the best Slovenian fund management company for 2014 by Slovenia’s most influential financial newspaper Moje Finance. Two of its funds – “Alpen.Emerging” and “Alpen.Developed” – also receiving top ratings, while the managers of the two funds were named in the top five Slovenian fund managers of the year.
