Elements Capital Partners, a Cyprus-owned boutique investment firm that specialises in distressed assets and private equity opportunities throughout South East Europe, has won several awards for “Alpen SI”, one of the investment funds controlled by the Slovenian subsidiary “Alpen Invest d.d.”.

Elements, co-founded by financial entrepreneur Savvas Liasis in 2010, is supported by US and Swiss-based hedge funds, as well US investment banks that assist in the execution of transactions.

In February “Alpen Invest” was proclaimed as the best Slovenian fund management company for 2014 by Slovenia’s business newspaper Moje Finance. Two of the funds – “Alpen.Emerging” and “Alpen.Developed” – also received top ratings, while the managers of the two funds were named in the top five Slovenian fund managers of the year. The awards recognised “Alpen.Developed” in the category of “global developed markets”, and “Alpen.Emerging” topped the “emerging markets” category.

Seeing an opportunity for investments in south eastern Europe, Elements acquired an additional 40.84% stake of “Alpen Invest” in April 2014, by increasing the stake it controls in the Slovenian asset management firm to 81.68%.

“Alpen SI” also performed exceedingly well last year through its privatisation strategy producing an annual performance in excess of 45%.
“In addition to our active investment funds we are also in the process of assessing and developing new investment opportunities in Cyprus and South East Europe which we will be announcing soon,” said Savvas Liasis.
