CYPRUS: UCy gets €1.6m for econ sentiment survey

The Economics and Research Centre of the University of Cyprus, that compiles the monthly Economic Sentiment Indicator based on business and consumer sentiment, has secured an additional funding of €1,568,880, to continue its surveys for the next six years.


The survey, conducted in cooperation with Nicosia-based RAI Consultants Ltd., is headed by Prof. Panos Pashardes and is part of the Joint Harmonised European Union Programme of Business and Consumer Surveys in which all EU member state take part. The funding, beginning from April 2015, has been secured from EU programmes and the Ministry of Finance of Cyprus.
The Business and Consumer Surveys, launched in 2002, cover the sectors of services, retail, construction, manufacturing and household-consumers and provide the pulse of the economy and an indication of trends, offering guidance for planning and strategy purposes.
