SPORT: TF1, CANAL+ to screen 2015 Rugby World Cup

TF1 and CANAL+ Group have secured the broadcasting rights to the 2015 Rugby World Cup, which will take place in England from September 18 to October 31.


Under the agreement, TF1, which holds the exclusive rights to the 2015 Rugby World Cup, has sold CANAL+ Group the rights to screen 27 matches on a live and exclusive basis to its subscribers, as well as a special programme about the competition.
In addition to live coverage of the opening and closing ceremonies, the TF1 group will broadcast 21 matches. It will provide exclusive coverage of all the games played by the French team, the best line-ups in the qualifying stages, two quarter-finals, the two semifinals, the Final and the third place playoff. TF1 www.tf1.fr also holds the rights to multi-screen coverage of the 2015 World Cup.
With this agreement, TF1 and CANAL + group will provide exhaustive coverage of the competition with a level of quality appropriate to one of the world's foremost sporting events.
