The Greek Cypriot side will return to the negotiating table once international law is respected and the illegal activities in the Republic of Cyprus` Exclusive Economic Zone stop, credible sources have said, on Wednesday.

The same sources say that the Republic of Cyprus continues its diplomatic efforts to that effect and still has several legal means in its disposal which it reserves the right to use.

At the same time it is noted that a recent meeting in the context of a dinner hosted by the Italian EU Council Presidency, in Milan, of Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades and Russian President Vladimir Putin was extremely constructive.

It was not by accident the two men were seated next to each other since Cyprus is considered to be the EU member state friendliest to Russia.

The same sources say that President Anastasiades will be having a telephone conversation within this week with US Vice President Joe Biden, who will visit Turkey close to November 20, and is expected to convey to the US official that he should deliver the Turkish political leadership a strong message over the country`s provocative action within Cyprus` EEZ.

Turkish seismic exploration vessel `Barbaros` entered Cyprus` Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). The move comes a few days after Turkey issued a maritime order (NAVTEX) for the area. This prompted President Nicos Anastasiades to suspend his participation in the UN backed negotiations which aim to reunify the island under a federal roof.

Cyprus has been divided since 1974 when Turkish troops invaded and occupied its northern third.

Referring to the Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras` visit to Cyprus on November 7, sources say that he will be present at a political parties` leaders` meeting at the Presidential Palace while it is also possible that he will address the House of Representatives` plenary.

The government has been following a policy towards creating an alliance network with the Gulf countries and all countries which are close to the Eastern Mediterranean.

A summit between Cyprus, Greece and Egypt in Cairo on November 8, is thought to be of the utmost importance because it creates the prospects of further deepening the already excellent relations between the three countries in all aspects of their cooperation.

In addition, President Anastasiades will pay Israel a visit in the next few weeks and Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman will be visiting Cyprus between November 5 and 6.

Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi is also expected to visit Cyprus within the month of November.

On January 27 President Anastasiades is due to visit Bahrain.
