British Tornado fighter jets took off for the fifth time on Monday morning from the British Royal Air Force base in Akrotiri, in the southern coast of Cyprus, according to British media.

Jets, armed with missiles, fly since Saturday morning over Iraq to identify possible jihadist targets, with no strikes having taken place yet. Pilots, however, have the green light to strike against ISIL militants, if necessary, following a parliamentary approval, on September 26 by the House of Commons.

Tornado jets are supported by a Voyager air-to-air refuelling aircraft.

During the weekend, fighter jets carried out four armed reconnaissance operations, with the last one taking place late Sunday night.
