President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades, departs Friday for New York where next week he will address the 69th UN General Assembly, and hold a series of meetings with world leaders including US Vice President Joe Biden and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
Before arriving in New York, the President, who will be accompanied by First Lady Andri Anastasiades, will stop in London to attend on Saturday an event organized in his honor by the Greek Cypriot Brotherhood at which he will be declared Patron of the Brotherhood.
On Sunday afternoon, 21 September, the President of the Republic will hold a meeting in New York with Secretary of State John Kerry in New York.
On 22 September, he will attend a working breakfast with members of the American Jewish Committee and later on he will meet with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic Evangelos Venizelos.
The President will attend a working lunch with the Permanent Representatives of the five Permanent Members of the UN Security Council.
In the afternoon, President Anastasiades will meet with the UN General Secretary Ban Ki-moon.
On the same day, the President will inaugurate a photo exhibition co- by the Consul Generals of Israel and Cyprus, and Arthur Schneier, entitled “Jewish Refugees in Cyprus en route to Israel.”
On 23 September, President Anastasiades will meet with the Prime Minister of Lebanon Tammam Salam and later on with the President of Egypt Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
Following that he will hold meetings with members of the World Jewish Congress and in the evening he will attend a reception hosted by President of the United States Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.
On 24 September the President of the Republic will meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov.
On 25 September, President Anastasiades will meet with the members of the AHEPA organization and later on with the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
On Friday, 26 September, the President of the Republic will address the UN General Assembly and subsequently he will hold a press conference.
On the same day, the President of the Republic will meet with the Vice President of the United States Mr Joe Biden.
In the afternoon of 26 September, the President will meet with the Board of the Cyprus-USA Chamber of Commerce, and in the evening he will attend a testimonial dinner by the Cyprus Federation of America.
The President of the Republic and his delegation will depart from New York for Cyprus on 27 September.
In his meetings, the President will be accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ioannis Kasoulides, Government Spokesman Nikos Christodoulides, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Cyprus at the UN Nicos Emiliou, the Ambassador of the Republic in Washington George Shacalli and other officials.
