CULTURE: China – Cyprus festival in October

The Cultural Institute of the Democratic Rally in cooperation with the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Embassy in Nicosia, are organising a China-Cyprus Cultural Festival from October 2 to 5 in Cyprus, which will include traditional Chinese opera, a photograph exhibition, and a lecture.

Speaking at a press conference, President of the Cultural Institute Prodromos Prodromou said a world renowned song and dance group from southeastern China would be giving two performances, one in Nicosia on October 3 and one in Paphos on October 5.

He added that there would also be a joint photograph exhibition and a lecture in Nicosia.

Chinese Ambassador Liu Xinsheng said the two countries have much in common, noting the cooperation of the two countries in various fields and the agreements in place.

Both Prodromou and the Ambassador pointed out the good opportunity for the Cultural Festival, which coincides with the independence days of the two countries.
