OFFICIAL VISIT: Japanese Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs in Cyprus

The Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Takao Makino, arrives on Tuesday, in Cyprus for a two-day visit.

On Tuesday Makino will meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ioannis Kasoulides to discuss, inter alia, bilateral relations, the Cyprus problem, the latest developments in the region of the Eastern Mediterranean, relations between Japan and the European Union, as well as other international issues of mutual interest.

The two Ministers will hold a press conference following the conclusion of the talks between the two delegations. In the context of his visit to Cyprus, the Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan will have a meeting with the Greek Cypriot negotiator, Andreas Mavroyiannis, and the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General in Cyprus, Liza Buttenheim.

Makino will depart from Cyprus on Wednesday.
