Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis is the winner of the 2014 VanOpen after defeating Farrukh Dustov of Uzbekistan.
Baghdatis became the champion with a 7-6(6), 6-3.

This is his second victory since returning to action in June, winning earlier the Nottingham tournament.
He was the runner-up at the 2006 Australian Open and a semifinalist at the 2006 Wimbledon Championships and reached a career-high ATP singles ranking of World No. 8 in August 2006.

Baghdatis learned earlier this week that he has got into the main draw of the US Open only after German Tommy Haas withdrew due to injury. With his exit, Baghdatis gains direct entry into the main draw. Baghdatis is currently ranked no. 105 in the world.
