Acropolis museum chief at UCy for 2nd Alpha Bank lecture

Professor Demetris Pantermalis, chairman of the Acropolis Museum, will be the keynote speaker at the second Alpha Bank lecture on Wednesday at 6pm hosted by the University of Cyprus who talk on “Digital technology applications in the research and emergence of the sculptures at the Acropolis Museum.”
Prof. Pantermalis will refer to the work undertaken to complete a three-dimensional scan of the Parthenon frieze both in Athens and in London.
During his speech at the main convention hall of the university on Kallipoleos Ave., Pantermalis will present the first results from the research and how this will be utilised in order to appreciate the relation between art and technology in ancient times.
The event, which is open to the public, will be addressed by UCy Rector Prof. Cosntantinos Christofides and Alpha Bank Cyprus Managing Director Georgos Georgiou. The keynote speaker will be introduced by Prof. Georgos Papasavvas.
