The flagship communities are Koroni in Greece, Soria in Spain, Cilento in Italy, Hvar (Brač) in Croatia, Agros in Cyprus, Chefchaouen in Morocco and Tavira in Portugal, which will take measures to further promote and protect the Mediterranean diet.

Agros is a traditional village on the Troodos mountain range, in the Pitsilia region. It is situated on a wine route which passes through pine forests with vineyards on the mountainsides, and almond, hazelnut, walnut and other fruit trees, wild rosebushes and herbs, which are feature in Cypriot cuisine and the Mediterranean diet. The diversity of the landscape, the Byzantine churches one sees on the route, the hospitality and traditions, make the region of Pitsilia and Agros especially one of the most beautiful areas in Cyprus.
