Attendence at the Offshore Technology Conference reaches 30-year high

The 2013 Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, Texas was concluded on Thursday, reaching a 30-year high in terms of attendance. According to the organisers, this year‘s event attracted 104,800 visitors, up by 17% from last year. Among the visitors were Cypriot officials.

OTC participants had the chance to take part in nine panel sessions, 29 executive keynote presentations and 298 technical papers, discussing specialised issues.

Major companies representing the industry set up booths in the exhibition area, covering over 60 thousand square meters.
Among the participants at the OTC, Norway’s Crown Prince Haakon and his wife, visited the event, to celebrate fourty years of Norway’s participation, while Governors from Texas, Alabama and other states held a panel discussion on offshore energy development and the need for improved cooperation with the Federal government.

Also present was US Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell, who toured the exhibition, as well as various Energy Ministers and national oil company senior executives, who shared their perspectives on the future of the industry
The OTC 2014 takes place 5-8 May 2014 at Reliant Park, Houston.
