Noble Energy, Inc. is the lead sponsor for Gulf Publishing Company’s inaugural Eastern Mediterranean Gas Conference (EMGC) in Nicosia, Cyprus, on 8-10 April 2013, at the Hilton Cyprus. The event will bring together oil and natural gas professionals with top-level executives and companies behind the planning and development of the region’s natural gas industry. Executives from operating, service and technology companies active in the region will be present to network with attendees and share their insight into this important new resource area.

Charles D. Davidson, Noble Energy chairman and CEO, will speak at the event. “Far more than providing tremendous business and growth opportunities for the oil and natural gas industry, the abundance of natural gas resources recently discovered offshore Cyprus and Israel have the potential to forever alter the energy-security and economic landscape of the entire Eastern Mediterranean region. Noble Energy is extremely proud to be a part of this international conference, and we are delighted that the natural gas sector is committed to helping us unlock these historic and truly transformational resources for the people of Cyprus and Israel,” said Davidson.

Other participants include Hyperion Systems Engineering; Deloitte, Ltd.; Det Norske Veritas S.A.; Radius Oceanic Communications, Inc. and the Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (Cyta). Media partners include: Oil&Gas Eurasia, Petroleum Economist, Project Finance and the European Rim Policy and Investment Council (ERPIC).

As activity continues in the Eastern Mediterranean, where an estimated 35 trillion cubic feet of recoverable natural gas reserves have been discovered, industry-leading companies are demonstrating interest in increasing their regional presence. The EMGC will provide attendees with the knowledge and insight to successfully build business operations in this burgeoning area. Subsea development, drilling and production; subsea pipelines; and natural gas processing are some of the large projects underway or under study. With these developments, Cyprus is poised to become Europe’s next LNG hub.
