Cyprus HICP inflation follows CPI upwards in Jan

The EU-harmonised consumer price inflation rate followed the national consumer price index (CPI) upwards in January, reaching 2.0% compared with 1.5% in December 2012, as various austerity-related VAT and other excise duties kicked in.
However, it was lower than the 3.1% recorded in January 2012.
The CPI reached 1.8% in January compared with 1.1% in December 2012 and 3.1% in January 2012.
