CYPRUS to host EU parliamentary meeting

The House of Representatives will be hosting the Meeting of Chairpersons of Justice and Home Affairs Committees on September 23 and 24, in Nicosia, in the framework of the parliamentary dimension of the Cypriot Presidency of the EU.

According to an official press release, the Meeting will be co-chaired by the Chairmen of the Committees on Legal Affairs and Internal Affairs, Ionas Nicholaou and Yiannos Lamaris respectively.

The Meeting will be attended by Chairpersons and representatives of parliamentary committees of EU member states, candidate countries and the European Parliament.

On the Meeting`s agenda are the issue of a Common European Asylum System, the integration of third country legal residents of the EU, and the legislative framework for the protection of personal data in the digital era.
