Cyprus’ loan request is still being processed, Russian Finance Ministry says

Cyprus’ request for a state loan from Russia is being processed in technical consultations taking place between the Finance Ministries of both countries and the matter will take time to conclude, Russian Finance Ministry official representative Alexander Lukashevich said.

Lukashevich, while speaking to the Press, confirmed that the Republic of Cyprus officially approached at the end of June the Russian Federation, with a request to extend a 5 bln euro loan.

He added that the Russian Ministry of Finance is examining this request, in accordance with the established procedure.
