Cyprus Paralympic athletes ready to compete in London Games

Cyprus Paralympic athletes enter the race in the London Paralympic Games, starting on Thursday, August 30.

Shooter Evripides Georgiou competes on this day at Men’s P1-10m Air Pistol-SH1.
According to the competition schedule, sprinter Antonis Arestis is next, in Men’s 200m – T46 on Friday, August 31, while the finals are scheduled for Sunday, September 2.

He will also compete in Men’s 400m – T46 on Tuesday, September 4, as well as in Men’s 100m – T46 on Thursday, September 6.
Swimmer Karolina Pelendritou follows next, in Women’s 100m Breaststroke – SB12 race on Saturday, September 8.

The Cypriot delegation was welcomed last Friday by the Mayor of the Olympic village in London, Eva Loeffler with a ceremony, during which the Cypriot flag was raised and the national anthem played

Head of the delegation Savvas Lakerides presented the Mayor with a gift on behalf of Cyprus, depicting the “Kyrenia shipwreck”.
The three athletes trained at London’s Olympic facilities, after settling in their accommodation.
