Cyprus farmers’ income up 1.4%

Cyprus and EU27 real agricultural income per worker has increased in 2011, according to estimates issued by Eurostat that estimated this to have risen in Cyprus by 1.4% in 2011, when in the EU27 the rise is estimated to 6,7%.
However, with the exception of Italy and Cyprus, in all countries of the EU South a reduction in real income was recorded.
Between 2005 and 2011, EU27 real agricultural income per worker is estimated to have risen by 18.3%. In Cyprus during that period, real income fell by 6.7%.
According to Eurostat, the change in real agricultural income per worker in 2011, is as follows: Cyprus 1.4%, Slovenia 7.1%, Italy 11.4%, Austria 12 , 2%, Germany 14.7%, Estonia 19.4%, Luxembourg 25.2%, Slovakia 25.3%, Ireland 30.1% Spain -0.3%, France 2, 6%, Greece -5.3%, Netherlands -8.1%, Finland -9.6% Portugal -10.7%, Malta -21.2%, Belgium -22.5%.
