More tourists from The Netherlands are expected to visit Cyprus this year, according to senior officers at the Cyprus Tourism Organisation, a press release, issued here Friday, said.

CTO Chairman Alecos Orountiotis along with the Deputy General Director Lefcos Fylaktides and Director of the Amsterdam CTO office, held a series of contacts with the major tourist organizations in The Netherlands.

According to the press release, the prospects for the summer of 2011 regarding tourist reservations were discussed during the meetings.

Prospects for winter season tourism were also brought up and the two delegations agreed as a first step to work on tourism schemes for November and March.

The heads of the tourist organizations expressed their satisfaction, noting that ''so far the reservations for Cyprus show an increase of 30%''.
