Cyprus trade turnover up 4.8% ex auto in 2010

The turnover value index of wholesale and retail trade including repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles fell by 1.1% in January-December 2010 compared with the corresponding period of 2009 according to the Statistical Service.
Excluding repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, however, the index rose by 4.8%.
In the fourth quarter alone, the index including auto repairs dropped by 0.9% over the previous quarter to 89.8.
The picture was also better in the fourth quarter when auto repairs were excluded, with the index showing an increase of 1.5% compared with July-September 2010.
