Cyprus-Qatar Joint Labour Committee to hold its first meeting

A Cypriot-Qatari Joint Labour Committee will hold tomorrow its first meeting in Nicosia, in a bid to commence talks between the two countries on labour issues, as well as for the signing of a bilateral agreement in the field of safety and health at work.

An official press release issued here today notes that during the meeting the social insurance systems of the two countries will be presented exploring a possible framework of cooperation in this field.

The Committee will also discuss the current structures of the social insurance system and the existing professional technical skill systems operating in the two countries.

The Cypriot delegation will be headed by Ministry of Labour Permanent Secretary Georgios Papageorgiou and the Qatari delegation by Deputy Minister of Labour Yousef Al-Mulla.
