Cyprus credit card transactions up 3% in 2010

Credit card transactions in Cyprus rose 3% by value in 2010, with local residents buying 1.9 bln euros' worth of goods on plastic, credit card clearing house JCC said on Friday.
JCC, which is a partnership of the island's main commercial banks, said the value of transactions during December alone was 7.0% higher than a year earlier at 216.5 mln euros.
The average value of each transaction fell to 73 euros from 75 euros a year earlier, JCC said.
