November sees modest increase in outbound tourism

There was a modest increase in outbound tourism in November, according to the latest figures from the Statistical Service based on the results of the Passengers Survey.
This showed that 73,541 residents of Cyprus returned from a trip abroad in November 2010 compared with 72,612 in the corresponding month of 2009, recording an increase of 1.3%.
In November 2010 there was an increase of 5.1% in the number of trips of residents to the United Kingdom (from 15,144 in November 2009 to 15,916 in November 2010).
Tourism arrivals rose by 3.3% over the year earlier in November.
