Cyprus services value up in Q3

The Statistical Service has announced the Turnover Value Index for a range of services sectors in the period July – September 2010.
Accommodation and Food Service Activities recorded an increase of 6.6% over the same period of 2009, while Information and Communication recorded an increase of 0.6%.
An increase of 6.2% was recorded on the sector of Professional, Scientific and Technical activities and an increase of 12.6% was recorded on the sector of Administrative and Support service activities.
For the whole January – September period, Accommodation and Food Service Activities recorded an increase of 4.4% over the same period of 2009.
Information and Communication and the sector of Professional. Scientific and Technical activities recorded an increase of 1.9% and 2.0% respectively.
Administrative and Support service activities recorded an increase of 6.8%.

Transport
In January – September 2010 land transport activity decreased by 5.0% compared with the corresponding period of 2009.
Water transport turnover value increased by 7.6% and air transport decreased by 5.7%.
Postal and courier activities turnover value increased by 5.8%.
