Cyprus trade deficit widens to EUR 1.7 bln in Jan-Apr

The trade deficit widened in the first four months of the year, rising to EUR 1,680.7 mln in January-April 2010 compared with EUR 1,526.1 mln in the corresponding period of 2009.
Total imports/arrivals in January-April 2010 amounted to EUR 2,025.3 mln compared with EUR 1,836.6 mln in January-April 2009. Total imports include those from third countries and arrivals from other Member States.
Total exports/dispatches in January-April 2010 were recorded at EUR 344.6 mln compared with EUR 310.5 mln in January-April 2009. Total exports cover exports to third countries and dispatches to other EU member states.
In April alone total imports/arrivals reached EUR 516.9 mln.
Total exports/dispatches amounted to EUR 80.2 mln.
Εxports/dispatches of domestically produced goods, including stores and provisions, were recorded at EUR 42.7 mln.
Exports/dispatches of foreign goods, including stores and provision, reached EUR 37.5 mln.
