The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) will decide by the end of July on its strategic partner for the terminal for liquefied natural gas, an EAC press release issued here on Wednesday said.

The EAC said that negotiations with the most eligible candidates began on Monday in London. They had been selected in late May through an evaluation process of proposals submitted to the EAC in February this year.

The negotiating framework has been approved by the EAC Board of Directors in June.

The aim of the negotiations with the most eligible prospective strategic partners is to improve the Documents of Cooperation of their proposal and to chose the preferred strategic partner for the joint development, construction and operation of the terminal for liquefied natural gas in Vassilikos.
