Cyprus Airways (CA), Cyprus' national carrier, received a new Airbus A320, as part of a planed fleet renewal.

Cyprus Airways announced that the new Airbus, the third A320 CA received this year, named ''Amathous'' has already begun flight operations.

The aircraft has exactly the same characteristics with the other new A320 received this year, ''Lefkosia'', and ''Aphrodite'' with 152 seats of which 20 are in Business Class.

CA said it will receive an additional three A320, one the coming November and another two in February 2011, completing the renewal of its fleet. The carrier believes that the replacement of the older A320s will yield spending cuts from reduced maintenance costs and reduced fuel consumption.
