Cyprus government promotes domestic tourism

Cyprus Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism Antonis Paschalides has said that for the government and for the Cyprus Tourism Organization (CTO), the promotion of the domestic tourism constitutes a high priority issue.

Addressing the 2nd Exhibition on Domestic Tourism, which takes place in the framework of 35th Cyprus International Fair, Paschalides said that the sector of the domestic tourism marked a remarkable increase lately.

Paschalides called on Cypriots to use the several notable offers provided by the Cyprus hotel owners and “meet Cyprus and its beauty. Cyprus, definitely offers great vacations to everybody”, he stressed.

He also noted that the government and the CTO promote several initiatives in order to contribute effectively to the development of the domestic tourism, such as the participation to an exhibition of the Association of Cyprus Travel Agents.

The great interest of the people that visit CTO kiosks in those exhibitions, proves that the prospects for further development of the sector of the domestic tourism, are huge”, Paschalides pointed out.

Referring to CTO’s initiative “Small escapes…Great experiences”, Paschalides said that the public embrace it. The initiative provides half board stay in one of the several hotels that participate in the plan, as well as an excursion with a professional guide and a lunch in one of the proposed restaurants.
