The Flight Safety Foundation/South East Europe – Middle East – Cyprus presented Nicos Shacolas, Chairman of Hermes Airports Ltd, with the Flight Safety Award, “for his outstanding contribution to aviation”. The award was presented by the Minister of Communications and Works, Erato Kozakou-Markoulli, after a joint meeting of the executive and advisory boards of the foundation in Nicosia, on Friday.
The justification for the award was that Hermes completed the construction and operation of the two airports of Larnaca and Paphos on time and within budget.
“Hermes, the management, staff and I will continue to give our full support to the promotion and development of the objectives and goals of the Flight Safety Foundation, in the years to come, in close cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Works,” Shacolas said on receiving the award.
