Cyprus wholesale trade down 13.3% in 2009

Wholesale trade performed badly in 2009 according to the latest figures.
The turnover value index of wholesale trade except motor vehicles and motorcycles for January-December 2009 recorded a decrease of 13.3% compared to the corresponding period of 2008. In December 2009 the index increased by 9.5 % to 128.7 units compared with 117.5 in November 2009.
Meanwhile, the turnover value index of wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles for January-December 2009 recorded a decrease of 24,4% compared to the corresponding period of 2008.
In December 2009 the index decreased by 3.7% to 85.1 compared with 88.4 in November 2009.
